FINAL FANTASY XVI
Role: Localization Project Manager (2022-2023)
Platform: PlayStation 5
Project Overview
As a flagship title and one of the most anticipated RPGs globally, Final Fantasy XVI demanded the highest standard of localization to deliver its complex, mature narrative to a worldwide audience. The project involved managing a massive volume of text and audio content across multiple languages simultaneously.
My Role & Responsibilities
Multi-Language Coordination: I managed the end-to-end localization pipeline for the primary EFIGS (English, French, Italian, German, Spanish) language pairs. This involved coordinating the entire lifecycle from initial translation and adaptation through to LQA (Linguistic Quality Assurance) testing and final implementation.
Central Liaison: I served as the primary communication bridge between the core Japanese development team and the global localization vendors and internal teams. This ensured that critical feedback, bug reports, and creative direction were relayed accurately and efficiently, minimizing delays.
Process Optimization: I implemented and monitored project timelines using JIRA and proprietary management tools, identifying potential bottlenecks in the translation or QA phases and reallocating resources to meet strict deadlines.
Quality Assurance: I collaborated closely with the LQA leads to define testing criteria, ensuring that the linguistic quality and cultural adaptation were consistent with the game's creative vision and series legacy.
